No unnecessary fuss. Just authentic Japanese food, served fresh, casual and straight from the street.

About Matsuri

Matsuri means “festival” in Japanese — the traditional street festivals full of food and a very special atmosphere. That is the feeling we wanted to bring to Tbilisi.

It began with a takoyaki grill set up outside a tiny bar in an underpass, and opened properly on January 1. Today the counter is run by David and Ryo, both professional pilots, and Naoto, an experienced authentic sushi chef from Japan. Together they warmly welcome every guest — Ryo grilling the takoyaki and Naoto crafting the sushi.

This is not a restaurant, it is an honest takeaway spot. You can watch the whole process: the batter poured, the takoyaki turned, the sushi made.
